Come and see stunning underwater photographs and beautiful films
at the first ever British Underwater Image Festival sponsored by
The National Geographic Channel and Canon
Professional television documentary makers to first-time
photographers are among the thousands of entrants in the
British Underwater Image Festival.
Make sure you see the fantastic competition winners on display outside the DIVE theatre. The six finalists in the film categories will be shown throughout the show on Friday and Saturday.
First prizes include a Powershot S80 sponsored by Canon for the
Open Stills category; the winner of the Young Photographer section
will have his or her photos displayed at The Deep Aquarium in Hull
and enjoy a week’s holiday for two in Hurghada and diving in Diver’s
Lodge (sponsored by Goldenjoy and Diver’s Lodge). The Portfolio category winner will enjoy a trip on a Maldives Liveaboard.
‘Now we are putting on something which could grow into a
showcase for the incredible talent I know is out there,’ says DIVE editor Simon Rogerson. Colin Doeg, co-founder of the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BsoUP) heads up the panel of prestigious judges, which includes Peter Scoones, co-founder of BsoUP.
